[ the queue - an experiment ]

November 10, 2008

know what i did last summer?

here it is:

this action between art, prank and social psychology is all about whether people are ready to take the risk of opposing a majority in order to have some innocent fun and what it takes to change their mind…

i chose the format of a pseudo-scientific experiment in order to have a little fun in hot august barcelona and by the way study a little bit of human behaviour, decision making and aspects of interactivity and participation…

I had so much fun watching this. Sociology is easily my favorite field of study, and it’s fun to watch just simple things like this and how they can affect a whole group of people.

“to take the risk of opposing a majority”? I think it was more “take the risk to lose their spot in the queue”. Who would do that for 1€, really ;)

We hope to attempt a few similar projects in Ulyanovsk, St Petersburg, and Moscow. I think the Russians may respond differently. Thank you for putting this experiment up.
