[ nuclear cloud ]
February 18, 2007
berlin has this touch of cold war about it. or maybe it was just me, finding out all these little details, that made of the city the symbol of an aera, and specially of its end. i remembered the omnipresent fear of nuclear war in the eighties… that left its mark in so many movies, books, songs etc. to commorate that i made a monument out of paper ;-)
here on its final location next to the oberbaumbrücke in kreuzberg

[ bbi ]
February 12, 2007
this installation inspired by the controversy around the extension of the schönefeld airport to “berlin brandenburg international airport” (bbi). the project had been taken to court by the neighbours who claimed that it would have been easy to find a less populated area for the construction site. but there where other problems too: the question whether such a giant project was adecuate for a city as much in debt as berlin and also whether the airport had a chance to be comercially successfull, since it would be mainly used by low cost airlines.
the installation is made with fotocopied and tape-stuck paperelements:

it was located during 3 days in the underground passage of the schönefeld airport trainstation.

a general view of the situation:

at this point i would like to thank the deutsche bahn AG for their help! thanks a lot! amazing how in germany everybody is suportive towards art, cant say the same thing about barcelona (it is actually impossible to get a permission for intervention in the public space for individuals, even when you are an official art student!)
[ flieger, studien für bbi (planes, studies for bbi) ]
January 20, 2007
these were the preparatory studies for my installation in the train station of the berlin schönefeld airport. i put them up in my studio at the universität der künste, and i have to admit, in the end i like them better than the actual thing at schönefeld. it was really fun to see them growing… surprise myself, and then take them apart, seeing how they become fragile and transparent.

[ las bolsas (the bags) ]
January 12, 2007
this installation was part of the “art meeting” exhibition, held by the erasmus students of the universität der künste in berlin.
the bags are a collection from the shops in berlin and the airport of barcelona, illustrating my trips back and forth between the two cities and my ways around my new temporary home town.

[ meadas (pissmarks) ]
April 28, 2006
it is funny how tags have this competitive and “marking my territory” aspect… it allwas made me thing of dogs covering up the smell of each others piss. so this is about that, i made the pissmark stencil and sprayed it around, but it was so discrete that i dicided, it needed a “meada madre” (mother of pissmarks) which i sawed out of a block of box-cardbord, that i glued toghether with white glue.
some fotos of the stencils:

[ el circulo mágico (the magic circle) ]
April 18, 2006
over easter i went 4 days to see my good friend nadege, who lives in the montseny national park. during these four days i painted rocks and roots and trees and leaves… the magic circle is what came out of it in the end. the location is very close to a quiet frequented path, but its giving its back to it. in fact you can only see the circle perfectly from one spot, which i marked on the floor.

this is how the vision disappears by moving just two meters to the right
[ la lucha del bien y del mal (the fight of good and bad) ]
February 5, 2006
this was a painting performance i did for the opening of the february off massana show. i was collecting the coats from the visitors and created an on-the-spot painting with them. to add the necessary ironic touch i attached the “good” and “bad” faces in an alegoric fight…
this is how it looked throughout the process
the performance was filmed, but unfortunately, the tape broke, so there is no copy
[ me gustan las fresas ]
October 18, 2003
an installation with a stencil graffiti on loose flyers in the entrance of an exhibition that was intended to be destroyed by the movement of people passing by. the desired effect was not achieved because some visitor stole all the flyers that formed the graffiti the very night of the opening.
